Our Calling and Our Goal

For all of us who have entered into relationship with Jesus, we understand that there is much more to our Christian walk than just being "good." As we fall deeper in love with Him, we want to be more like Him.

  • He called us to be servants.

Jesus called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whomever wants to be first must be slave to all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."  Mark 10:42-45

  • He taught us to serve those in need as we would serve Him.

Parable of the sheep and the goats- Matthew 25:34-46.
"Whatever you do for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40

  • He asked us to share Him with the nations.

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20.

Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines benevolence as the "disposition to do good." It is a noble intention. Yet God teaches us that merely wishing someone well is ultimately of little good. We are called to go beyond good intentions to meet the physical needs of those in need

Join us in helping others. What we have we give away for free no strings attached.

Food is more than a meal. It can serve as a magnet to individuals who may be reluctant to ask for help from other programs and services. The outreach efforts of Our Food Bank can link them to intervention services that help them achieve self sufficiency.
